Crusader Chronicle - Thursday, Sept. 21
Dear CtRCS Families,
What another fantastic week of teaching and learning at Christ the Redeemer Catholic School. I was able to read to many Pre-K and Kinder students this week, and was overjoyed by their excitement for learning and loving responses to my questions about kindness. As one little person reminded us, "We can be kind to new students by asking them their name." Maybe everything we needed to know, we truly DID learn in Kindergarten!
This week marked the start of a new tradition at CtRCS. We began to pray the Angelus at 12 noon. Fr. Sean did a wonderful job of introducing it to each of us at Mass. I encourage each of you to check out
this link to learn more about this beautiful prayer
and discuss it with your children. We look so forward to having our students lead us each day in one more prayerful moment!
After meeting with the administrative staff and building committee members, it looks as if we are going to have to wait one more week to move our middle school students into their new classrooms. I thank each of you, in advance, for your patience and understanding. While we are confident that we will have construction complete and pass our fire inspection by Monday, this extra week will allow us to properly furnish the rooms, provide teachers time to prepare their rooms, and ensure that we have technology set up.
Finally, Thursday and Friday, Oct. 5 and Oct. 6, will be half days of school (12 noon dismissal/no aftercare) so that we can hold our Student-Led Parent Teacher Conferences in the afternoons on these days.
The sign-up lists will go out in the teacher's weekly newsletter to families this Friday

HELP, MY CHROMEBOOK IS BROKEN!
Crusader parents, we're updating the procedure for getting Chromebooks repaired. If your student has an issue with their Chromebook, they should let their Homeroom teacher know. If we cannot remedy the problem immediately, the Homeroom teacher will send home a form for you to sign authorizing a repair. Our Director of Technology will confirm that a repair is necessary and contact you if there are any options or alternatives before sending the Chromebook in to Acer for repairs. Acer currently charges us a flat rate for repairs of $129.99, plus tax and shipping one way. This usually works out to a total cost of just under $150. If a repair is necessary and approved, the school office will invoice you once the repair is complete.

Crusader CROSSCOUNTRY (XC)
Mother Nature had her own plan for the September Sizzler XC Invitational hosted by St. Agnes and Strake Jesuit yesterday evening. After several delays for lightning, the boys and girls 5th and 6th grade division took off at a fast clip. Four minutes later, the race was called off because of continued bad weather in the area. Bummer!
