And the Funnies:
Walking along a California beach
a laywoman was deep in prayer. Suddenly she cried out, "Lord, grant me one wish."
The sky darkened and a booming voice said, "Because you have had the faith to ask, I will grant you one request."
The woman said, "I hate to fly but I would love to go to Hawaii. Please build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive there whenever I want."
The Lord chastised the woman for such a selfish request and reminded her of the task's difficulty, saying, "Think of the logistics. Think of the supports requied to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things at that environmental cost. Do you have another wish that would honor and glority me?"
The woman thought and said, "OK, Lord, I wish I could understand men. I want to know how they feel inside, what they are thinking, what they mean when they say 'nothing' is bothering them."
After a few minutes God said, "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"
