94th Annual Christmas Eve Community Carol Sing
The annual Christmas Eve Community Sing will be held at 7pm Sunday, December 24, on the Basking Ridge green. the event will be preceded by the ringing of the church bells at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian and Bishop Janes United Methodist churches.
Everyone in the community is invited to gather at the green starting about 6:45pm to pick up the song sheets.
It is suggested that carolers bring a flashlight in order to read the song sheets.
Gifts for the Food Bank
Thank you all for the abundance of gifts you brought to the Creche service last week. The Food Bank was thrilled to have these presents to give to their clients to help make their Christmas a bit brighter!
Holiday Food Drive
Many thanks to all who donated to our holiday food drive for the Food Bank. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we delivered 109 hams, turkeys and roasting chickens, along with bags of sweet potatoes, warming hearts and blessing the tables of many in our community in need of a festive, nourishing meal.
One of the pleasures of the Alpha course is the time we spend sharing our spiritual experiences. We can all learn from each other!
Since we have had limited time each Sunday to discuss topics, let’s spend Sunday, January 7 at 9am, in sharing some of our reactions.
What have you learned? How has the Alpha discussions changed your perspective? What might you do differently going forward?
for 2018 are available in the Narthex. If you thought you requested them and they are not there, please contact Doug Post.
As December 31 is a Sunday, there may be some confusion about year end donations. According to IRS regulations, as long as we receive your donation on or before December 31, or if it is mailed and postmarked on or before December 31, the donation will be credited to 2017 for tax purposes.
And for tracking pledge vs. holiday contributions during the Christmas season, the rule of thumb is: pledge payments made in a pledge envelope, or checks (or cash) specifically marked 'pledge' will be so credited. Donations made in Christmas envelopes, whether from the envelope system or included in Christmas mailings, or available in the narthex, will be treated as holiday donations and will not count as a pledge payment.

For many years, members of our parish have visited elderly parishioners who are no longer able to get out on their own. We would like to formalize this activity: Would you like to help out? Do you know of an elderly parishioner who you feel might benefit from visits? If so, please talk with Nancy Brangaccio or Jan Williams.
Come and join us for painting or other arts and crafts on a Tuesday in the Arts Studio downstairs. We usually arrive at around noon and finish by 4:00pm. Come for as long as you like. We work on our own paintings, have a great time together and help each other out. For more info contact Jenny Phillips 908-451-9638.
