Know by Doing
Know by Doing
Whoever says, "I know him," but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him: whoever claims to abide in him ought to walk just as he walked. (1 John 2:4-6)
In the realm of Christian spirituality, keep this essential truth in mind. We know Jesus by doing what he commands. If you are going talk the talk, you better walk the walk said St. John. We cannot love what we don’t know, we cannot truly know if we do not love. Holiness begets holiness. Saints beget saints. If you keep following the footsteps of Christ by loving, by forgiving, by showing compassion as He did, you will become the Christ for others. Reading the life of the Saints and emulating their personal sanctification, you will become holy.
What have you been doing lately? At work, at leisure, on social media, online, etc.
God gives us 24 hours a day, what are the percentages of your time focusing on knowing God?
Lord help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I together can’t handle. Amen. (Repeat this prayer throughout your day, knowing that He is the Emmanuel-God with us!)
Hail Mary full of Grace...
Peace in Infant Jesus,
