Upcoming Lenten Opportunities
SIMPLE SOUP SUPPERS
On Friday, February 16th & 23rd and March 2nd, 16th & 23rd, we invite you to join us for Simple Soup Suppers. As we come together for this simple meal of meatless soup and bread, it reminds us of how we are called to practice a simpler lifestyle during our Lent. Each week will be hosted by a different parish ministry or group that will prepare and provide the homemade soups and bread for our meal. We'll begin serving in the parish hall at 6:00 PM. A freewill offering will be accepted at the door and a suggested offering is what you would have typically spent on dinner. All proceeds from the soup supper will benefit our Parish Lenten Service project
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Also on Friday evenings, beginning on February 16th through March 23rd, St. Mary’s Parish will pray the Stations of the Cross as a community. Praying the Stations of the Cross brings us closer to Christ as we meditate on the great love He showed for us in His most sorrowful Passion! At 7:00 PM each Friday, we'll invite those who attended the Soup Supper to join us up in the Church. If you choose not to attend the Soup Supper you can go directly to the Church at 7:00 PM. Like the Simple Soup Suppers, the Stations of the Cross will also be led by a different group each week. On Good Friday, April 14th, Living Stations of the Cross will take place in the Church at 3:00 PM.
PARISH LENTEN SERVICE PROJECT
We will offer a Parish Lenten Service Project again this year - an opportunity for us to give, to reach outward and serve others in need. Partnering with our Social Justice Ministry and Catholic Relief Services, our parish will package just over 10,000 meal packages. Each package will feed 6 people. That's over 60,000 meals! Through this project, we'll be helping to fight hunger globally. More information including the date and time and instructions on how to register will be coming soon!
