His Holiness Pope Francis announced:
This Friday, February 23, will be a day of prayer and fasting for peace
, in particular for the populations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan. Catholics in good health from age 18 until age 59 are obliged to fast and pray. The Friday Stations of the Cross are an excellent prayer for peace. The faithful are asked to spend time in prayer on Friday, February 23. Perhaps consider offering the day’s work and trials for the people who are suffering in these regions.

Remember when you were in High School?
Remember your hair style and clothes? Did you play sports, play in band, theatre? What was your GPA? Did you go home or to work after school? Do you remember worrying, being fearful, being pressured? Do you remember trying to fit in and not feeling adequate?
Novena for High Schoolers:
We will be having an online novena for the special intentions of our parishioners in High School (and all high school students). It is this novena

And the Punnies:
There was a Catholic who sent 10 puns to friends, hoping that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did.
A religious education class
was almost finished making their models of the nativity scene and one little boy had done a lovely job. Some animals, Mary, Joseph, three wise men, shepherds were all there. However the teacher noticed an extra, rather overweight man in the scene as well.
"Who is that person?" she asked.
"Oh, that's Round John Virgin."
How cold was it the other day?
So cold that the diocesan director of development had his hands in his own pockets!
