EASTER EGG HUNT SUPPLIES

Lenten Backpack Food Drive
"Today, an estimated 16 million children in our country will go hungry everyday. That's 1 in 5 youth without access to nutrition. St. Mark's Youth Group is committed to helping meet these needs by sponsoring a Lenten Backpack Food Drive. We invite you to help us in this battle. During Lent we will be accepting donations of snack-sized non-perishables to give to children in need through our foodbank. A donation box will be available in the Narthex.
Most helpful items include
: mini Chef Boyardee meals and tuna cans, Ramen Noodles, Easy Mac&Cheese packets or bowls, fruit cups, oatmeal packets, and granola bars. Your support is greatly blessed and appreciated."
Keansburg Soup Kitchen - Wednesday, March 21st
We will be heading down to Keansburg next week. We have a short
t as some folks had volunteered for our last scheduled trip which was cancelled due to snow.
You haven't missed it! Alpha at St. Mark’s continues this Sunday, March 11th in the Parish Hall. Please come even if you missed last week!
Alpha is a practical introduction to the Christian faith and is open to anyone. It runs as a series of weekly meetings which each involve an informal meal, a talk, and a small group discussion. It is relaxed, nonthreatening, low key, friendly, and fun. Alpha is for everyone, especially those wanting to investigate Christianity, new Christians, newcomers to the church, and those wanting to brush up on the basics. But it all starts with you! We’d love it if you would sign up to attend. We’d love it even more if you invited someone you know who
might benefit from it. Remember, while the program is 10 weeks long, all you are inviting them to is the introductory session, then they can make up their own mind about the rest. And, they (and you, if you come) get a free meal, and without even cleaning up! Please consider inviting a friend, relative, or co-worker. Contact Chip Hughes for details or click
for more info.
Save the date for a Stout tasting event!
Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 7pm in the Parish Hall.
Resident brew-master, John Lyga, has generously prepared a Stout and an IPA for our tasting pleasure. There may even be a small demonstration on brewing.
This event is open to all (over age 21 please) and since Sunday’s Church-a-palooza was such a success, we will be extending an invite to St. Bernard’s and St. John’s on the Mountain.
The idea is to come together in Fellowship, but is there interest to do something together? Can we come away with ideas for some jointly sponsored event?
Hope to see you there!
Memorials & Thanksgivings for our Easter Garden
Would you like to remember a loved one with a flower memorial this Easter or honor someone with a thanksgiving donation to the Easter Garden?
You can either fill out a flower memorial envelope (found in the link)
and place it in the offering basket or contact the office with the name(s) you would like to include.
Your $30 donation will go towards the purchase of the plants and flowers that will adorn the altar on Easter. Thank you for making the Easter Garden possible!
The Daughter of the Regiment
Next weekend, Friday and Saturday March 23 and 24 at 8PM, Donizetti’s opera, The Daughter of the Regiment, will be presented here at St. Mark’s by Light Opera of New Jersey. Tickets can be purchased at lonj.org
This Tuesday, from 4PM-5:30PM in the large Sunday School room, smARTS will meet. Jenny Phillips will be leading us in decorating and planting succulents. The following week, Jim DeCoste will demonstrate his expertise with linoleum block printing. smARTS is for ANYONE: children, youth, or adults. Come and join this artistic community which seeks to join faith-and-arts as one.
For many years, members of our parish have visited elderly parishioners who are no longer able to get out on their own. We would like to formalize this activity: Would you like to help out? Do you know of an elderly parishioner who you feel might benefit from visits? If so, please talk with Nancy Brangaccio or Jan Williams.
Come and join us for painting or other arts and crafts on a Tuesday in the Arts Studio downstairs. We usually arrive at around noon and finish by 4:00pm. Come for as long as you like. We work on our own paintings, have a great time together and help each other out. For more info contact Jenny Phillips 908-451-9638.
