Backpack Food Drive
"Today, an estimated 16 million children in our country will go hungry everyday. That's 1 in 5 youth without access to nutrition. St. Mark's Youth Group is committed to helping meet these needs by sponsoring a Lenten Backpack Food Drive. We invite you to help us in this battle. During Lent we will be accepting donations of snack-sized non-perishables to give to children in need through our foodbank. A donation box will be available in the Narthex.
Most helpful items include
: mini Chef Boyardee meals and tuna cans, Ramen Noodles, Easy Mac&Cheese packets or bowls, fruit cups, oatmeal packets, and granola bars. Your support is greatly blessed and appreciated."
Keansburg Soup Kitchen
Next Wednesday we will be (finally!) going down to Keansburg to serve lunch. Our last two visits were cancelled due to snow. If you would like to help provide part of the meal, please click
to view the needs list. Thank you!
ASP Spring 2018
Spring is here! Now’s the time to think about your spring planting! We have gorgeous plants from Hamilton Farms at Boonton and they’ll be ready for Mother’s Day.
We have beautiful flowers, delicious veggies and fragrant herbs. They’re top quality at competitive prices. And it’s for a great cause. While you beautify your home or grow tasty veggies, you’re helping our youth and adults make homes warmer, safer and drier in Appalachia. Thank you so much for your support.
Plant forms are in the office, Link, April Lion’s Roar or find them
in the Little Roar.
Please return plant forms to Jenny Phillips by Sunday April 29, 2018.
I’m happy to help with any questions, please call me at 908-451-9638 or email
Save the date for a Stout tasting event!
Wednesday, April 11, 2018, 7pm in the Parish Hall.
Resident brew-master, John Lyga, has generously prepared a Stout and an IPA for our tasting pleasure. There may even be a small demonstration on brewing. This event is open to all (over age 21 please) and since Sunday’s Church-a-palooza was such a success, we will be extending an invite to St. Bernard’s and St. John’s on the Mountain. The idea is to come together in Fellowship, but is there interest to do something together? Can we come away with ideas for some jointly sponsored event?Hope to see you there!
For many years, members of our parish have visited elderly parishioners who are no longer able to get out on their own. We would like to formalize this activity: Would you like to help out? Do you know of an elderly parishioner who you feel might benefit from visits? If so, please talk with Nancy Brangaccio or Jan Williams.
Come and join us for painting or other arts and crafts on a Tuesday in the Arts Studio downstairs. We usually arrive at around noon and finish by 4:00pm. Come for as long as you like. We work on our own paintings, have a great time together and help each other out. For more info contact Jenny Phillips 908-451-9638.
