A Message from Fr. Arthur Proulx
Dear Parish Family,
I was delighted when Bishop Parkes called me just before Easter to inform me that I had been appointed rector of St. Jude Cathedral Parish. The Cathedral and its community have always been close to my heart. In 1979, after my diaconate ordination, I was assigned to assist at St. Jude for the summer months. This was my first experience preaching to a congregation at Mass. I’ll always remember how kind and affirming people were to me as a young (25 years) cleric. The following May, I was ordained in the Cathedral to the Sacred Priesthood. The countless number of times I
have returned for important (and no so important) ceremonies have made St. Jude part and parcel of my personal story. In addition, I have many good friends who are members of the parish.
When I begin my ministry in July, I will have a chance to further introduce myself. As we pray and give service to God together, we will gradually grow in our mutual friendship and respect. In the meantime, let’s promise to pray for one another. Let us also pray for Father Waters as he concludes his outstanding ministry to St. Jude. In addition, I ask your prayers for all the men at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary where I presently serve as Dean of Spiritual Formation. The future of our church looks bright!
Thanking you for all of your good wishes, I am
Your Brother in Christ,
