Update from St. Joseph's Church in Greenwich Village
Monday, April 30–Wednesday, May 2
7 p.m. (optional Rosary beforehand)
We’re very excited to welcome Father Bill Garrott, O.P., to preach a parish mission here at Saint Joseph’s during this Easter season. Father Bill is a brilliant preacher and veteran of over 100 parish missions throughout the US and Canada.
This mission aims to help us all to enter more deeply into the love of the Holy Trinity and experience God’s merciful touch through the Sacraments. We’ll come to a profound encounter of the Father who blesses, the Son who heals, and the Spirit who strengthens.
Mark your calendars for what promises to be a unique, grace-filled moment in the life of our parish and a wonderful way to help us to continue our celebration of Jesus’ resurrection!

Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe
With your support of the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe (CCEE), you aid those who strive to rebuild faith communities in regions where the Communist regime had suppressed the Catholic Church during the Cold War.
Thank you for your generous support in this collection on April 28 and 29.
Special Thank You to All
Thank you to all volunteers who made Holy Week special! One of the most moving parts of the Easter Vigil comes just before our brothers and sisters receive the sacrament of Confirmation. They’re standing in the sanctuary with their sponsors behind them facing the congregation. Led by the choir, the assembly sings “Veni Sancte Spiritus,” begging God to send the Holy Spirit down upon them in a new and powerful way. No matter how many times I experience that moment, it always gives me chills. There’s just something about the whole Church crying out together.
It strikes me that that moment is, in a way, representative of the entirety of Holy Week. All of the liturgies are extraordinarily prayerful. And all of them are the product of the parish working together to make them beautiful. Led by Joe Brown, Michael Mangiello, John Behre, and Isaac Wash, I was moved to see so many people step forward to help with Holy Week. You were liturgical ministers, ushers, choir members, party-planners, church-cleaners, and more. Each person, in their own way, helped to make Holy Week as beautiful as it was. And the staff and I are more grateful than words can express. May God give you the reward of your generosity!
