For the week of Sunday, April 29, 2018 • The Fifth Sunday of Easter
Dear Members of Pax Christi,
This weekend and next during the Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses, we celebrate with and welcome 76 children to the Lord’s Table as they receive their First Eucharist. Not only is this a wonderful and important time in their and their family’s life as Catholic Christians, but it is also a parish’s moment to rejoice as we experience the growth of the faith community. The witness of these children also helps the youth and adults reflect on their own First Communion, and ask some probing questions: What difference has this sacrament made in my spiritual journey as an individual and as a member of a faith community? What does the Eucharist challenge me to be and become? How is my life “broken and shared” for others?
It is fitting that we are witness to the younger members of Pax Christi receiving their First Communion during the Easter season, for the Easter Season is about more than the Resurrection of Jesus. As Benedictine Sister, Joan Chittister, has written recently in an online post, “It (the Resurrection of Jesus) is just as much about the resurrection of everyone around Him because of His own. Mary Magdalene rose again, this time a disciple. The apostles rose again, this time with courage and purpose. The little people for whom Jesus’ whole ministry had been spent rose again, this time with new conviction and certainty. Rising again is the central message of the Christian tradition.”
As we journey with our young people these next few weeks, may we remember that the power and strength the Eucharist gives is the invitation for transformation and resurrection in our lives.

THE PAX CHRISTI MEN’S SOFTBALL TEAM
IS LOOKING TO ADD PLAYERS!
The Pax Christi team has enjoyed a long history in Eden Prairie. As lives and commitments changed, the team has continued to evolve. We are now again looking to recruit new players to fill the roster. Join in for the competition as well as the social interactions! The league is made up of teams representing various churches throughout Eden Prairie. This is an Eden Prairie Parks and Rec, Men’s Church League - USSSA “D” Level. They play doubleheaders each week on Thursday nights starting April 26. All games played at Round Lake and Lake Riley Fields.
