This week at The Ridge
We will be finishing up our study in Habakkuk this week. Our title is
Living Above the Fray.
If you want to prepare ahead—which I would highly suggest—read from 2.6 to the end of the book (3.19). We will see how Habakkuk dealt with looking disaster and trouble square in the face, and coming away victoriously.
We have a number of special weekends coming up in May: Mother’s Day, Pentecost, and Memorial Day. We will be celebrating them all.
Our time with the baptismal is just about up. This is a last-minute call for anyone that would like to be baptized. Please let me know by Sunday.
There are a number of prayer needs in the church family. I’m not going to go over all of them here (we do so, however, in the prayer meetings). But I would like to ask you to pray for Robert Rennacker, one the vets who stays at Donna’s house. He is very sick and has been in the hospital for a few weeks. And now he has contracted the flu. He needs a touch from God.
Please contact me at
) if you are interested in becoming part of a small group. Also, Andy will be launching another round of Financial Peace University on Sunday evenings. First session is May 13. This is a top-notch class on learning how to handle your finances from a biblical perspective.
Church garage sale May 31-June 2. We have storage space in the pavilion for your donations.
Next Men’s Work Day is next Saturday, May 5, beginning at 9:00 again.
If you have a Facebook account, would you please go onto
Facebook page and give us a like? And invite your friends to do the same? Believe it or not, this is something that young people look at when they are thinking about attending a new place or event. If there are a lot of positive reviews and likes, they are far more likely to check it out.
Also, we are now live-streaming on Facebook! This means you can watch our service at home on Sunday morning (this only works if you have a valid excuse for missing!). But you can also watch it after the fact.
to see last week’s video.
Here are links to some of the songs for this week:
The Potter’s Hand
Break every chain
When I think about the Lord
Great are you Lord
Here are last week’s:
Your Love Defends Me
Take my life/Here am I
Lord, I lift your name
O come to the altar
Build my life
Sunday is coming!
