Dear Members of Pax Christi,
Thank you for your generosity to the Baby Shower Drive held a few weeks ago. The parish collected 91 boxes/packages of diapers, 114 packages of baby wipes, 12 containers of formula, 245 clothing items, 73 blankets/towels/crib sheets, and 337 toys, bottles, bibs, hats, lotions/shampoo, etc. that were shared with Tandem, (formally Tapestry Pregnancy), Life Care Center Minneapolis, Holy Rosary Church, Southwest Options for Women, Healthy Beginnings Program (formally Health Partners Mother/Baby Program), and PROP. Our Quilting Ministry participants also contributed beautifully crafted baby blankets, bibs, and hats for these organizations’ distribution. Following is a note of gratitude from Carol Seifert at Healthy Beginnings:
Once again I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the Pax Christi Community. The Healthy Beginnings Program at Health Partners, where I still work two days a week, received an abundant supply of wonderful baby clothing, diapers and wipes, blankets, and other baby necessities. Some of it was handmade, some of it packaged in individual boxes like shower gifts, and all of it was purchased with care and love.
The women that I am privileged to serve often have no support and almost nothing for their babies. Their life stories are frequently difficult at best and sometimes tragic. One would think that because I have done this job for 24 years (the majority of it full time) that I would have heard all of the sad stories that there are. Unfortunately that is not true.
Your generous gifts will be received with tears and disbelief that someone who does not know them cared enough to assist them. Thank you for giving these moms hope and for providing essentials for their infants.
You make me proud to be part of the Pax Christi Community.

In church ministry, this is the time of year that there are always changes and transitions. You know of the ordained leadership changes announced the past weekends at the Masses. Last week, Mary Kennedy, Director of Stewardship and Development for the last 12 years at Pax Christi, offered her resignation. Her last day here will be June 14. We will have a farewell and appreciation gathering after the Wednesday evening Mass on June 6 beginning at 6:30pm for Mary. We’ve known for awhile that Jessie Bazan, one of Youth Ministers for the past year, will be leaving us for ministry back at St. John’s in Collegeville. Her last day with us will be Thursday, May 24. As Fr. Marc moves on to his new ministry at St. Rose of Lima and Corpus Christi in Roseville, we will say “goodbye” and “thank you” to him after the Masses on the weekend of June 23 and 24. We have been graced by Mary’s, Jessie’s, and Fr. Marc’s presence with us at Pax Christi, and we wish them well, knowing the Spirit will continue to lead them in new and exciting ways.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2017-2018 RECIPIENTS OF PAX CHRISTI’S JUSTICE GRANTS!
The work of our Justice Grant Board is complete for this fiscal year, and we are happy to announce the recipient organizations for 2017-2018.They are Blessed Trinity Catholic School, Centro Guadalupano, Risen Christ Catholic School, Cabrini Partnership, St. Anne’s Place, St. Stephen’s Human Services, Small Sums, YouthLink, Launch Ministries, The SLAM Program of Ascension Academy (serving St. John Paul II Catholic School, St. Peter Claver Catholic School, and Ascension catholic School), and PROP.
We work diligently as a board to center our decisions on the values and commitment of Pax Christi Catholic Community. We are always mindful of the incredible generosity and commitment of every member of Pax Christi to doing justice in the world. Thank you to our Pax Christi membership for making these grants possible.
BECOME A JUSTICE GRANT BOARD VOLUNTEER
Pax Christi’s Justice Grant Board reviews applications and awards a portion of our parish annual revenue in the form of grants to organizations addressing homelessness and childhood development for children living in poverty. During the course of the year, the volunteers act as a liaison with current grant recipient organizations to promote engagement activities with Pax Christi. The Board participates in the grant selection process for the upcoming fiscal year.Time Commitment: 3 hours/month when the Board meets and 1 hour/month communicating with your assigned grant recipient organization.
Meets: Once during August on a Saturday morning retreat day. Second Monday of the month, 6:30–8:30pm, eight meetings from September – June

Tuesday, June 5, 6:00–8:00pm, Room 212Come enjoy a relaxing and fun art collage session with others. We make 5"x8" cards that reflect aspects of our inner selves, our soul's purpose, and the divine. Once finished with each card, you journal with it by using the journal sheets with three guided questions. Find out what that card is all about. You may also want to make cards for your deck that honor others so feel free to bring photos of loved ones, loved places, loved pets, and anyone in the world or heaven who has inspired you. JUNE CURSILLO ULTREYA
Sunday, June 10, 7:00pm at St. Hubert Catholic CommunityThe June speaker is Mary Peters. Rosary will be prayed in the family room beginning at 6:30pm. Cursillo is an encounter with Christ. It promotes a spiritual revitalization of our world. By living a fully Christian life, we bring Christ to others, including members of our family, school, workplace, etc. Cursillo develops a consciousness that we are called to be leaders. The Cursillo method enables you to expand your prayer life, spiritually grow through an ongoing formation process that increases your knowledge about God's Word and your Catholic faith, and spread God's Word in a natural way to the people you interact with in the very environments in which you live. In the Cursillo Movement, we approach evangelization as a very natural act of being Christ-like within each of our daily activities. We realize that while most people would like to live their lives in a Christ-like manner, the pressures of the world often make this difficult. The Cursillo Movement provides a method and a technique to provide each of us with the tools, the mentality, the strength, and the support to make this natural type of evangelization possible.
