Endings & Beginnings
June is the month of endings and new beginnings. We see our children graduation from grammar school, high school and college. It is the end of our experience but the beginning of a new phase of life. First, congratulations to all those who are “moving up” into this new phase of life. May the Lord always be your guide. We are proud of your accomplishments and support you as you embrace new beginnings, whether it is a new level of education, a new job or new stage of life!
It is also an ending for me as I conclude 17 years as your Pastor (at Assumption and 4 years at Resurrection). I leave this position with mixed feelings for sure. I will miss all the contact with so many people at the important moments of life as well as the everyday interactions. There is sadness at departure and there is joy at the satisfaction of a “job well done”. I, too, begin a new phase of life as a “Senior Priest” after 46 years working closely with people in the community. I’ll be living at St. Mary’s Church downtown where I will assist as needed.
Let’s be praying for each other as we continue the journey of faith!

A Summer Blessing
May you walk with God
In whatever you do
Wherever you go
Walking with God means...
Walking with honesty
And with courage,
Walking with love
And concern for the feelings of others
May you talk to God
And every day and
In every situation
Talking with God means...
Praying words of praise
For the beauty of creation
Saying prayers of thanks
For friends and good times,
Asking God's help
In all your decisions
When you have failed
May you talk with God
Every day. Amen.
