This week at The Ridge
This Sunday, we will continue our series on
. The title for this round is
Do You See the Bicycle?
And, of course, you will need to be there to see what this has to do with anything.
Dealing with conflict is one of the most universal topics of need that you will ever find. I heard from many places that people thought this series was put together just for them. I never put together a message for that “one person”, only what I feel the Lord wants me to share with the entire body.
With so many feeling that this was specifically for them, I feel assured that the Lord did want this series for this church at this time. And I have even been feeling myself that the Lord wanted me myself to learn this all over again.
I want to send out a special thank you to Garret for leading us in worship. He has been very sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s flow, as the entire band has been rallying around him. We have had very special moments together in worship as a church.
We are proceeding forth to put together a carnival for Saturday, August 18 on the grounds of
Old Fort Volkswagen Club
will be hosting their 18th annual Car Show & Swap Meet, which attracts thousands of people.
We will host ministry booths, games, concessions, and offer free parking for the car event across the street.
We will need volunteers for set-up/take-down, concessions, games, and other miscellaneous. We could even use crossing guards to shepherd people between the two events. This is a magnificent outreach opportunity dropped right into our lap. Let’s go forward with great energy and expectation!
Look for sign-ups in the church lobby coming soon (maybe this week!)
The month of Ramadan continues through June 14. Muslims fast until sundown each day. We encourage you to focus on praying and fasting for their salvation.
We appreciate you continued faithfulness in giving. We have a lot of special needs popping up right now. We have to get the roof repaired over the south part of the building. It has patches on the patches, and we cannot even finish remodeling the bathrooms over on that side until the water issue on the roof is fixed.
We also need to finish the new offices up in front of the church (where the coat room is now), and to build a new platform for the sanctuary (this is required by the city).
God has given us all of the resource we need to do this, if all of us do our part in giving! Not a problem for God!
Please be mindful to continue to be faithful in your giving throughout the summer. This is traditionally the tough financial season for churches, but it should not be. I have personally never stopped tithing due to vacation or even due to being in between churches! My tithe has always belonged to the Lord.
The garage sale will be wrapping up tomorrow (Saturday) at noon. We have had a lot response from the community in coming in and buying up our goods. I truly appreciate all of the work that went into this project to make it happen!
is sponsoring a camp out event, right here on our grounds on this coming Friday and Saturday. The scouts will be helping out, since camping is their
There is no charge for the event, but bring your own food and tents. You can also bring your bicycles and helmets, for we are going to be spinning around Shoaff Park!
If you have any questions, please see Julia Dunlap or Angie Baxter.
