And the Funnies...
A Lutheran pastor is walking around his neighborhood
when he sees several children playing with some newborn puppies.
"Kids, what kind of puppies are these?" he asks.
"Well, they are Lutheran puppies, of course," replied the kids.
The pastor is really touched. A few days later he sees the children and again asks what kind of puppies they have. And again he is assured they are Lutheran puppies.
About a week later, the pastor's bishop comes for a visit. Hoping to impress him, the pastor takes the bishop for a walk by the children with the puppies. He proudly askes them, "Children, what kind of puppies are these?"
"Why, they are Catholic puppies, of course!" they reply.
The pastor turns beet red, demanding, "But last week and the time before you told me they were Lutheran puppies!"
"Yes, but their eyes are open now," reply the kids.
A monastery in the English countryside
had fallen on hard times, and the abbot decided to establish a business to defray their expenses. The monks first considered a bakery or a winery, but being English they decided to open a fish-and-chips restaurant. The establishment soon became quite popular, attracting locals and tourists from all over.
One customer, thinking himself clever, asked one of the brothers standing nearby, "I suppose you are the fish friar?"
"No," answered the brother with a straight face, "I'm the chip monk."
