This week at The Ridge
This Sunday, we will again tackle the topic of peacemaking, and how we can actually improve our relationships and the kingdom of God through conflict. We will be walking through the process Jesus gave us to deal with those who offend us, found in Matthew 18.15-17.
is sponsoring a camp out event, right here on our grounds tomorrow night (Friday) beginning at 6:00 pm and going on for 24 hours! The scouts will be helping out, since camping is their
. There is no charge for the event, but bring your own food and tents. You can also bring your bicycles and helmets, for we are going to be spinning around Shoaff Park!
If you have any questions, please contact Julia Dunlap or Angie Baxter.
The month of Ramadan continues through June 14. Muslims fast until sundown each day. We encourage you to focus on praying and fasting for their salvation.
Brenda Wilder has done an above-and-beyond job heading up our hospitality ministry, as we can all attest to. When there has been any kind of special event that requires food, the kitchen, etc, she has been on top of it, and done excellent work, along with her crew.
She needs to step down (hopefully only temporarily), but we need someone to be willing to fill in this tremendous gap she is leaving. It is a very rewarding ministry, but it takes enormous work. We are looking for that special someone who feels called to do this. If this is your heart, your passion, please let me know!
We appreciate you continued faithfulness in giving. We have a lot of special needs popping up right now. We have to get the roof repaired over the south part of the building. It has patches on the patches, and we cannot even finish remodeling the bathrooms over on that side until the water issue on the roof is fixed.
We also need to finish the new offices up in front of the church (where the coat room is now), and to build a new platform for the sanctuary (this is required by the city). God has given us all of the resource we need to do this, if all of us do our part in giving! Not a problem for God!
Please be mindful to continue to be faithful in your giving throughout the summer. This is traditionally the tough financial season for churches, but it should not be. I have personally never stopped tithing due to vacation or even due to being in between churches! My tithe has always belonged to the Lord.
The Old Fort Volkswagen Club will be hosting their 18th annual Car Show & Swap Meet, which attracts thousands of people. To take advantage of their proximity to us, we are going to host a carnival, right here on
We will host ministry booths, games, concessions, and offer free parking for the car event across the street.
We will need volunteers for set-up/take-down, concessions, games, and other miscellaneous. We could even use crossing guards to shepherd people between the two events. This is a magnificent outreach opportunity dropped right into our lap.
Let’s go forward with great energy and expectation!
We will have a sign-up in the church lobby this Sunday morning.
Many thanks to those who participated in the garage sale. We raised a lot of money, and also were able to make significant contacts within the community. Please pray that the Spirit would draw our neighbors back on Sunday to see more of what we are all about.
Here are the links to the songs for this week, some old some new. Garret is introducing the song “Pray to Your Name.” I have listened to this one multiple times, and it continues to bless my socks off each time I listen again. I would encourage you to listen to it several times, as well, to be familiar with it by Sunday. This will enhance your worship experience, I assure you!
