Why Attend Our Upcoming Men's' Retreat?
On July 11th at 7PM we are giving a retreat for men. This can be a wonderful opportunity to give yourself the gift of time - time to refocus and let God speak to you. But why should God need us to do this? What are the benefits, if any?
Here's some "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) that might help:
Why Men Need a Retreat
Are you serious, isn’t that something that women do?
Isn’t that something that religious people do?
Why would I go on a retreat?
And why would I go on a retreat with a bunch of men I don’t know?
This is some of the responses we get from men when we mention to them about undertaking a retreat. However, those who have put their toe in the water say Retreat can be the catalyst for positive change in their lives that they have been looking for.
If we look a little further into this, we find:
Men live mostly in their heads. Sometimes totally disconnected from their hearts? Most men are slaves to society; to their minds, emotions, bodies, self-image, work, relationships, phones, laptops, TV, the media, politics, alcohol, sugar, wheat, caffeine, and the list goes on and on.
Sometimes do you feel lost in the drama of your life; lost in the matrix, the rat race, so lost in your own stories, driven by past conditioning, that you can’t see where you are going. At best, do you stumble through your life, making the same mistakes, over and over, holding onto the same habitual tendencies, addicted to stimulation, with no clear mission and purpose, no clue of where you are going, and without a road map of how to get there.
Unfortunately, you are not alone, most men are stuck.
Are you this type of man? Isn’t it about time you took a step back, retreated from your life, lifted your head above the trees, looked deeper into yourself, and took a moment to breathe.

Spiritual people are not those who engage in certain spiritual practices; they are those who draw their life from a conversational relationship with God.

This is a light-hearted and fun one but don't worry: if you're concerned about someone seeing you watching a cartoon, just play it with your earplugs on your cell phone in private!
Practice makes perfect! This is a true saying whether one is playing basketball, drawing a picture, reading, or even praying! In this wonderfully fun inaugural episode, the ever-joyful Brother Francis will help your children establish a personal relationship with God!
This episode features:
