ICC NEWSLETTER - JULY 13, 2018
REGISTRATION, NY ARCH YOUTH DAY, BOOK CLUB
Friday the 13th. Spooky, right? Wrong. We are a people of Faith, and all this Friday the 13th will represent is the beginning of another Summer weekend. Use it well. Kneel before an altar. On to the news!
"Be a Catholic. When you kneel before an altar, do it in such a way that others may be able to recognize that you know before whom you kneel."
St. Maximilian Kolbe
ICC REP REGISTRATION
It is a happy July for the REP! Many families have registered for the 2018-2019 Religious Education Academic Year already, taking advantage of the tuition break for early registration... more than ever, in fact. Why does that make us happy? For three reasons: because it demonstrates that Religious Formation is important to our parents; because it allows us to plan for the year ahead better... and because it helps you save some money for your children to use in other ways. If you have not yet registered your child for REP classes, here are the links:
tuition rates will return to their regular amount.
NY ARCH CATHOLIC YOUTH DAY
Saturday, October 20
, the Archdiocese of NY will host its annual Catholic Youth Day, right in the
Westchester County Center
. If you are the parent of
a HS Student who received the Sacrament of Confirmation here at the REP
if your teen
is a registered Parishioner who attends Mass regularly
, we would love for them to form part of the ICC group.
ICC will reserve group tickets based on the number of registrants, and will make arrangements directly with the Archdiocese. However, we will require
1 adult chaperone for every 4-5 teens
. So, we are asking the parents of our teens to form small groups, and identify one parent
to chaperoning them.
What We Will Need:
Permission slips, adult medical forms/releases, youth medical forms/releases, and all chaperones must attend Safer Spaces training. The Parish will also need to provide the Archdiocese with the names of each teen and chaperone attending, so there can't be any last minute changes or switches.
How Much Does it Cost:
Now - August 15
: $20 - Early Bird Registration!
August 16 - September 21
September 22 - October 6
I Have a Group and a Committed Chaperone. What do I do next?
Please contact the Rectory (preferably) by
Friday, August 13
to get started.
What will the Book Club read next? Stay tuned!
BOOK CLUB and FAITH DISCUSSION
We always knew the Liturgy Committee (LC) would grow into something great. It did, and it is still growing. This week the LC Book Club met for the last time before taking a break in August. However, they will return in a big way in September. If you've ever thought of joining a book club, or wanted to get more connected to the Faith, this group of dynamic people is a great place to start. Look for more information in August.
Finally, please don't forget that our
ICC Sharing Community desperately needs a Coordinator(s) for it to continue to run
. Please contact the Rectory as soon as possible if you are interested.
We will need to let the Sharing Community in Yonkers know by August
if we will be able to continue our service to the poor.
That's all folks! I look forward to seeing you at Mass, but if you are away, make sure attend Mass wherever you are. And as
St. Maximilian Kolbe
said, wherever the Altar before which you will be kneeling is located, make sure those around you know before Whom you are kneeling!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
