ICC NEWSLETTER - September 7, 2018
ARE YOU GETTING THE MOST OUT OF ICC?
(Please read all the way to the end. It's worth it.)
Over the last few days our village's streets filled with cars, the Metro-North platform became a little more crowded, and brand new binders and notebooks were christened with the first few scribbles of the year. Fresh starts are good. They feel good. They look good. They even smell good. Think new clothes, new books, new backpacks.
September is also an opportunity for all of our Parishioners to have a fresh start. Come to Mass. Bring someone with you. Come to Mass to give thanks for the summer, your family, your home, and your Community. Come to Mass and
teach your children to pray
for a good school year, and find consolation in God.
Challenge yourself to help others more, pr
ay more, get involved more. It's a fresh start. Take advantage of it, and you will see that every moment of every day living in Christ is a fresh start. On to our Parish news...
Remembering September 11
This Sunday at 10AM we will celebrate our Annual Heroes Mass in honor of our First Responders, and the victims and families whose lives changed this tragic day. Honoring the brave and the fallen is not moving backwards. Instead, by remembering and honoring them, we understand and value the importance of life. All emergency responders are welcome to attend, and will receive a blessing.
Sunday, September 9 at 10AM
Finally, if you have the time and are in the area, please attend the
Village of Irvington Annual 9/11 Ceremony, held at 8:30AM
in Scenic Hudson Park.
Show your support for our Village's First Responders, and your respect for those who passed away. You can find and download the Village flier with more details at the end of this email.
Imagine biting into a juicy burger. (Don't forget to dab the corner of your mouth when the juice dribbles down!) That could be you next Sunday at our annual Parish Council Welcome Back BBQ. What's that? You're a vegetarian? We've got you covered! We've got all of our parishioners covered. We're family.
To make our BBQ truly family style... warmer... closer, we're asking all of you to bring something with you.
We could use some more side dishes
- salads, slaws, taters, and desserts. You know what to do! But
please, please, please
let us know
what you're planning to bring as soon as possible. Just use the buttons below. We want to make sure we've got enough food for everyone, and that nothing goes to waist!
