Scandal Reflections, Religious Ed Registration, and Windows
These are our last days of the summer and we've got a few things for you today:
First of all, I trust we're all united in our confusion and dismay over the recent news in the Church. It's going to take a while to unravel what has happened, and how the Holy Spirit will lead us through all of it. For now, I'd like to share two great responses to the Church's latest wave of sex abuse news. One is a short video from Fr. Mike Schmitz.
The Second is a longer podcast from "Catholic Stuff You Should Know." The reflections have both put words to a lot of what I've been feeling, and also give me hope for the future. I hope you'll find them useful.
Bishop LaValley has asked us to offer a special day of prayer and penance in response. You'll be hearing more on this and other responses soon.
Secondly, It's Religious Ed Time!
On a much lighter note: the first Family Gathering of the year will be a week from Saturday (September 9).
Of course, you can call or email us to register, but also Ms. Jamie Burns will be at all the Masses this weekend. See her after Mass for the fastest and easiest way to get your children registered!
Third, how about those windows?!?
Hopefully you've noticed the beautiful work that was done to remove the opaque plexiglass coverings from our stained-glass windows.
The covers were causing problems with condensation. Even more, they were forming little greenhouses over each window that was baking the lead between the pains and leading to their deterioration.
We're going to take this year as a trial to see how life is with them uncovered. At very least it's much more beautiful!
Finally, Mass Times
We hope you've all heard that we're back to our School Year Mass Schedule:
5:00 PM (Saturday)
9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
Let's keep praying for each other. See you soon!
