Adult Faith Formation
The G.I.F.T (Gathered in Faith Together) speaker series returns Wednesday, September 19, 2018, 7 – 8:45 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Our featured speaker is Kay Davis from the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality. Kay is a spiritual director with Kay Master’s Degree in Spirituality and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Creighton University. Her talk, based on the teachings of the late Father Herbert Alfonso, S.J., will address the search for meaning through discovering our personal vocation. Let us gather in community to hear how our God calls us each by name!
RCIA classes begin Wednesday, September 12, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the Parish Hall. RCIA is the process by which adults, teens, and children older than 4th grade can discern and prepare for full initiation into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of baptism and/or confirmation and/or first Eucharist. We welcome inquirers into the Catholic faith and anyone who desires to deepen his or her faith and learn more about God and the teachings of the church.
Join the Great Adventure Bible Study Group, Thursdays, 7 – 9 pm, beginning September 6, 2018, in the Parish Hall. We are excited to be offering a 10-week study from the Augustine Institute, Lectio Peter. From the description of the course: “Bringing together biblical accounts, historical evidence, Church teaching, classical art, and personal insights, Dr. Tim Gray gives a fresh perspective on Simon Peter.” All are welcome!
Wednesday Morning Bible Study will resume Wednesday, September 12, 9:30 – 11:30 am in the Parish Hall. All are welcome! We will be discussing content and format – what’s worked well and what the group might want to change. The plan is then to commence a multi-week study of the Gospel of John.
For more information, call or email: Chris Sullivan, 303-233-1283, x345; email@example.com
What is the RCIA? RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. It is the process by which adults, teens, and/or children prepare for full initiation into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism and/or Confirmation, and/or first Eucharist. This journey of deepening faith involves prayer, scripture study, education, integration into the community of the faithful, and participation in the liturgical and moral life of the Church.
Who is RCIA for? The RCIA serves those who have not been baptized, or have been baptized in another Christian tradition, who desire to become Catholic. The RCIA is also for baptized Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Confirmation and/or first Eucharist. Finally, any Catholic who wishes to deepen his or her understanding of and commitment to the faith is invited to participate in the RCIA classes.
How can I get more information? Are you interested in RCIA? Might you know someone – family member, friend, co-worker, neighbor – who might be? Please contact Chris Sullivan, Director of Adult Formation and Christian Initiation at 303-233-1283, x345, firstname.lastname@example.org

The Knights of Columbus Pancake breakfasts are back! Our next one will be Sunday September 16th after the 7:00 and 9:00 am Masses. We would like to thank everyone who came to the Pancake Breakfasts last year and this past spring as we were able to raise $3,220 that we passed onto several deserving charities. As a reminder the Knights of Columbus Pancake breakfasts are donation only and helps us to financially support various activities and programs throughout the year. The breakfast in September will be used to raise funds to assist the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Fatima Council 9597 with our expenses for the many activities we support.
The Knights are always looking for quality men who wish to be better fathers, husbands, and Catholics to join our family-oriented council.
