Light of the World Retreat!!
October 26th - October 29th
Four years ago Fr. Nick and his team brought the Light of the World Evangelization Ministry Retreat to the parish. All involved were unsure if or how it would impact our parish. What would the result of this retreat be? Would it help bring people closer to the Lord? We are happy to say that all of our dreams were surpassed! Since the beginning 196 people have attended this retreat and we currently have eight small faith groups meeting regularly. Our parish community has strengthened and service to others outside of the church has increased. More people have been brought closer to the Lord and are willing to witness the Good News to others!! Have you thought about attending this retreat? Is the Holy Spirit calling you? Is He nudging you to say yes? Do not be anxious or afraid. Trust in the power of the Lord! For more information or to register for the retreat call Sue today at 508-278-2226.
Box of Joy!
Our Youth Ministry teens along with families from faith formation are participating in the “Box of Joy” program facilitated by Cross Catholic Outreach. This is an annual Christmas gift campaign which allows Catholics in the US to engage in service to children worldwide. On November 4th our teens will gather together to fill the boxes. Their goal is to ship 100 boxes to children in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Guatemala.
For some children this will be the first Christmas gift they have ever received.
Cross Catholic Outreach works to mobilize the global Catholic Church to assist and transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually. They deliver food, shelter, water, medical help, education and hope to the poorest of the poor. In receiving these gifts, the children will learn about the Christmas story and the love and saving power of Jesus Christ. There is a $9.00 fee to send each box. $7.00 covers shipping and $2.00 goes to support the ministry. You may learn more about this ministry by clicking on the picture above where a four minute video explains the project. For more info or to make a donation please call the Faith Formation Office at 508-278-3777.
