This week at The Ridge
This week will be our third and final look at Ephesians 4.7-16 in this series. We will be looking at the spiritual gifts of pastor and teacher.
There is a lot of misunderstanding about what the term and spiritual gift “pastor” is all about. Come on Sunday, and we’ll delve into it!
Eileen and I want to thank you for such a wonderful time last week after the service. We are thrilled to be here, love you all bunches, and look forward to serving Jesus with you for a long time to come.
We are so pleased to now officially have Paul Bruns on the board of elders. He brings a wealth of experience, wisdom, and joy into the leadership. His wife Bonnie is a also a tremendous woman of God, a real blessing to our church.
Welcome aboard, my friend!
The youth group is scheduled to meet Sunday evening at 6:00 at the Rowlands home, 4610 Oak Creek Drive.
Our men’s Bible study will be continuing on, our study of the life of Abraham. The text is Genesis 14. It’s never too late to join! We’ve been having a great guy time together.
Please join us!
We have had some tremendous improvements to the facilities lately.
A big thank you to Tonya for painting the hallway, and creating and hanging the wreath next to the ladies’ room.
Cindy and Becky painted the rails out in front of the church. Many a day I’ve come in wondering how in the world we could get this taken care of… and then one day I showed up, and it was done! They also installed the white benches, which also transform into a picnic table. Thank you so very much, ladies!
Not this week, but
week (November 4) will be the biannual time change, as we move into daylight savings time.
You many say “Fall back” to remember which way to change the clock. I just like to remember that in the fall, I get to sleep an extra hour!
We will have a first-ever Sunday School class beginning on November 4. Andy will be heading it up. It will meet from 9:00 to 9:45 on Sunday mornings, right before the service.
Not sure if he did this on purpose, but the first week will be on the time change week, so it will be easier to get up on time to be there!
I’m still looking for a ride for a lady who called last week, wanting to attend
She lives over by Jefferson Pointe. If you are interested in providing a ride for her, please contact me, and I’ll give you the details.
Mike has invited us all to his retirement party, scheduled after church (and at the church) on November 11. Even though it’s his 3rd retirement, we think this one will stick.
Please plan to attend and bless our bro who spends a lot of time in the church fixing and maintaining things.
This is a PSA, unrelated to the church. I almost missed this, so I thought someone else may have, as well:
Fort Wayne is changing their trash/recycling schedule, and about half of us will have our pick-up day changed, beginning the week of November 5. You can find out about your neighborhood
Here are a few of the songs we will worship with on Sunday:
I Will Rise
Here are the songs from last week:
All the Way My Savior Leads Me
Heart of Worship
More Love, More Power
Let’s look forward to an awesome day together!
