Knights of Columbus 909 - "Keep Christ in Christmas"
A great way to prepare children for the upcoming celebration of the birth of Christ is through the “Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest” sponsored by the Knights of Columbus 909. Children in age groups 5-7, 8-10, and 11-14 are invited to reflect on the significance of our Savior’s birth, as they participate in the season of Advent. Contest rules are attached and 11”x17” paper is available in the main office. Finished posters are due back to the school office by December 12th, 2018.

We will be preparing for the Christmas season very soon. Please plan to join your fellow St. Matthew Parish members at our upcoming "Come Away to the Manger" Advent Retreat. This Advent, we want to offer you a moment of peace and a chance for you to join with other members of our community. At our retreat, we’ll have a few witness talks, share conversation in small groups, have time for prayer and Adoration, and look mindfully at our lives, learning how to create more space for Christ as we near His birth. After this retreat, you’ll be refreshed and challenged to create more moments of stillness in your real-world life. You’ll head into Christmas with a renewed mentality on the gift of Christ’s Birth. The retreat will be held on December 8th and 15th...simply pick one of those dates and plan to join us. Please follow the link for more information and to sign up.
Please see the attached flyer regarding the Saints baseball program. More information, including registration information is included in the link. Registration ends November 25th.

Message from the Principal
Wow! Your generosity is very much appreciated! We have a huge stack of books to donate and a Teacher Tree with only very few candy canes left. Thank you for helping those in need this holiday season. Just a reminder that if you have not sent in your $2 to support families in need, please do so on Monday. Thanks!
Essentials Team Highlight
The Essentials team would like to share what RESPONSIBILITY looks like in our classrooms. In PE students should take care to return all equipment in a timely, safe manner; this means no one shoots or throws after the whistle is blown. In MUSIC students should work to learn their individual parts so the group sounds even better; and students should take care of materials used between all students. In ART students should clean up after themselves, and take care to not disturb other students’ creations. And in all classrooms we encourage owning up to any missteps that may occur. We model all aspects of our expectations in our classrooms. Keep on being creative, active, and vocal in all you do!
~The Essentials Team
