Confirmation Class this Sunday
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I am writing to remind you that we have a Confirmation class this
Sunday, December 2, 2018
from 4:00pm to 5:30pm
A small change of which to take note, this “class”
will be held in the church
because during the class candidates for Confirmation we will participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We have several priests who will be available to hear confessions and I will guide students through the process. To receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, it is required to be in a “State of Grace” which means a candidate for Confirmation must receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation near to the date of Confirmation. If your child must be absent this Sunday, this requirement must be made up, most likely at normal times for hearing Confessions (which is Saturday afternoons).
I am still looking for a few adults volunteers to help me run reflection groups after students complete the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Sunday. If you have time to volunteer, please sign your name on the Google Sheet found by clicking on the button below.
With just a month and a half until Confirmation, we are getting close to the end of our preparatory sessions. Please remind your child to complete the reflection forms that are detailed in the Confirmation Handbook attached below. These cover the attendance at Baptism and service projects.
Forms for Confirmation Candidates to Complete
Also with only a short time until Confirmation, we are now starting to look for candidates who are willing to read at the Confirmation Mass on
Wednesday, January 16, 2019
(First and Second Reading and Petitions) as well as brothers or sisters of candidates who are willing to serve at Mass with Bishop Bartosic. Please send me an email at
to express interest.
I hope you have a great week! Stay warm. With winter starting this soon, it could be a long one! Do we really live in a place that gets snow through April?
PS. As a reminder, if your child has missed more than the 2 allotted absences for Confirmation Classes, a way to make them would be to attend the Advent Speaker Series featured below which meets on Wednesday Nights at 7:00pm starting next week,
Wednesday, December 5, 2018
. It’s just a really good spiritual pick-me-up before Christmas.
If your child missed all the opportunities for a retreat, then attending all 3 nights is the best alternative to make up that requirement.
I invite you all to come! I it is ideal for adults and children!
