The 2017 Derby Daze Gala & Auction

Dear Current Panther parents:
I am writing to you as a former parent and alum. I am the chair person for the Elyria Catholic Derby Daze Gala & Auction. This event is May 6, 2017 and is returning to the EC Coliseum this year. Myself, and my three children have graduated from EC, myself in 1984, Andrew Gauntner in 2011 and Katie and Tricia Gauntner, in 2014. I am very proud to say that the foundation we received at Elyria Catholic, has helped shaped each of us.
Our Gala and Auction is vital for the continued success of Elyria Catholic and is the school’s largest fundraising event. We rely on the generosity of individual donors, businesses and the overall community to support this event. All funds raised directly benefit the students and campus of Elyria Catholic High School.
I am writing to encourage you to participate, in some way, in the Derby Daze Gala.
There are many ways to participate.
Currently, we are looking for sponsorships, advertisers for the event program, donations to silent auction baskets and donations to the Wine/Bourbon pull that will be held at the event. Additionally, your students will be asked in the coming days to bring in items to contribute in their class basket that the student senate will be putting together. The winning grade will get a bagel/donut breakfast and a dress down day. If everyone contributes a little, we can make this event a huge success. I truly believe that the education at EC is very special. Education is not only about academics at EC, but also about community and faith. In this changing society, where else can your student openly talk about the importance of God in their lives and in their future? I know there are many sacrifices that you as parents make in order to send your students to Elyria Catholic. I can personally say it is a sacrifice I would gladly make again.
I have attached the Sponsorship letter, Ad letter and Donation Suggestion Letter. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information about the event. If you are unable to join us, we are selling tickets for a chance to win a Winspire trip either to the Kentucky Bourbon trail or to a VIP experience of Churchill Downs where the Derby is held. Chances to buy these complete packages are limited to 200 and the cost is $50 a piece. If you are interested, please use the link on the schools
